I teach reading, language arts and childrens' literature to undergraduate and graduate teacher candidates, as well as courses multicultural education. As a staff developer and consultant I design and implement interdisciplinary curriculum in history and language arts; and formulated a parent-child book discussion with sites throughout a Northeastern U.S. State. My research interests include sociocultural aspects of literature response, preparing teachers for diverse settings, and family literacy. My articles have appeared in such journals as Urban Education, Multicultural Perspectives and Language Arts.
