I am an assistant professor in Environmental analysis and environmental technology. My research focus is sustainable city development and more specifically the role of municipalities in this development. For example how can municipalities promote the sustainability process by taking a lead role in developing and implementing sustainability strategies in the local territory. My research has so far mainly concerned Swedish municipalities; however I plan to expand my research perspective to other countries as well. I have studied how municipalities use standardised environmental and sustainability management systems and I have also studied municipalities' processes to develop energy strategies and how they implement sustainable transport strategies. A significant part of my time I teach at both undergraduate and graduate level. I give courses in Strategic environmental management, Sustainable City development and Methodology.
