Rod Giblett is the author of seven books on environmental matters beginning with Postmodern Wetlands: Culture History Ecology (Edinburgh University Press, 1996). His most recent books include: Sublime Communication Technologies (Palgrave Macmillan, 2008); The Body of Nature and Culture (Palgrave Macmillan, 2008); and Landscapes of Culture and Nature (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009). His paper is excerpted from a book called People and Places of Nature and Culture currently under consideration with Intellect Books. He has a background in literary studies but for the past 30 years has worked in an interdisciplinary fashion in Cultural Studies. HIs research interests are in the cultural studies of nature and landscapes. He is currently researching and writing a book on Canadian wetlands and a book on family and environmental history in south-western Australia. He is the Reviews Editor for Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies published by Taylor & Francis.
