Riccardo Balbo is an architect with a PhD in Theory and Construction of
Architecture, and has been appointed to the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy) as
Temporary Professor and SITI - Higher Institute on Innovation Territorial Systems
– as a Research Fellow. He also manages his own architectural firm in Turin.
He is involved in National and International research projects and cooperation
programs, mainly in the fields of Architectural Heritage, housing and Information
Technologies in the design process.
He teaches Architectural Design Studios, IT application in architectural design,
Heritage and Urban morphology, and Cultural values in Architecture, for
Bachelors, Masters and Post-graduate programs.
His professional experience lies mainly in private and public building refurbishment, restoration and interior
design. He has worked on projects that require the experimental use of new materials, Information
Technologies and a design sustainable approach to heritage and the environment.
He has professional international experiences in: Spain (1997), France (1998), India (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005,
2007), Egypt (2005), and Belgium (2005, 2006).
