Earned Master of Science in Counseling/Counselor Education at Indiana University, then worked as a school counselor, accommodations/wellness coordinator and basketball coach. Served as member of Iowa Child Welfare Advisory Board (Co-Chair, Education Subcommittee) and earned certification as Family Development Specialist. Areas of research include: standards-based grading practices, functions and structures of Educational Service Agencies, and leadership of exemplary school and community wellness initiatives/impact of physical activity on cognition and student achievement.
