She has postgraduate qualifications in English literature and language ( India ), PhD in Education (UQ) and has teaching experience in India and Australia . Her work history includes teaching in secondary school, teaching business communication at tertiary level, and TESOL courses and Education courses at the University of Queensland . Her diverse work experience has fostered interests in literacy and language learning, while her PhD related interests include critical discourse analysis, critical literacy, media literacy and gender. Her current research interests include literacy, multiliteracies, media literacy, gender and educational issues.
