Raglan Maddox has a public health background with a variety roles and experiences both domestically and abroad. These include numerous roles with the Australian Government, including working with Dr Tom Calma AO, National Coordinator Tackling Indigenous Smoking at the Department of Health on Tackling Indigenous Smoking; lecturing and tutoring on public health and Indigenous studies; working at the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland; and volunteering as a Health Promotion Field Officer at the Columbia Asia Medical Centre in Miri, Malaysia. Raglan is a PhD Candidate at the University of Canberra and has a Master of Public Health. His programme of research explores the effectiveness of tobacco control among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It is expected that this research will help evaluate, inform and improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community health at the grass roots level.
