Pouline Koh is the Academic Department Head of Creative Arts; a school that cultivates design practices, innovation in design and media, creative skills of performing arts and contemporary social interactions as the center of learning at KDU University College, Malaysia. She is also a Ph.D candidate who teaches design methods and research to the students in Master's program, a partnership and dual parchment programme with Rome University of Fine Arts. Her research is focused on addressing applied design and information design by understanding the multidisciplinary fields between health and wellness of society and application of design. Her recent papers – “Labeling for Good: A Study of Nutritional Label Format and Design to Help Consumers Make Better-Informed Choices” and “Digesting Information: Design to Inform or to Confuse” – examine the intersection of design methods and labeling requirement. With the perseverance in her research area, she was awarded with a 3-year national grant (FRGS) by the Ministry of Higher Education in 2015. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design from Swinburne University of Technology (National School of Design), and a Master’s Degree from University of South Australia.
