Peter Middleton has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Western Michigan University, A Masters of Education from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from New College of Florida. He was a founding Director and Vice President of BIGThink--an art, science and technology collaborative. He is a primary, secondary and post-secondary teacher. Currently, he works as a teacher at Black River Public School in Holland, Michigan. He has worked extensively as a founding collaborator through the arts with the World Peace Art Initiative, and has participated on many levels in large-scale environmental artworks. Community projects include: large-scale collaborative projects, teacher workshops, and international community projects. Middleton continues to develop integrated teaching and learning programs/curriculum, research and design mobile and contextual learning systems, and teach secondary College Board Advanced Placement (AP) art history and art studio courses. He also taught sociology and psychology as a post-secondary adjunct teacher, develops large-scale installations/performances with middle and high school students, and collaborated as BIGthink Vice President of Education and Curriculum.
