I am a passionate young professional in the museum sector with a strong research interest on access and interpretation in art museums.
After having graduated in Museum Studies at Leicester University (UK) I decided to return to my home country (Italy) with the hope of putting the knowledge I gained into practice.
I am currently employed at VITRARIA Glass + A Museum, a newly born institution in the city centre of Venice dedicated to glass in all its forms. Here I work on the development of exhibitions and manage external relations with institutions.
As a member of ICOM and the Museums Association I actively follow the international museological debate. I collaborate with the the ICOM Committee of the region where I live and with the italian ICOM Visitor Studies Group.
I enjoy writing essays and articles on epistemology, art interpretation and audience development, some of which I have published both in Italian and English. I have a growing research interest for critical museology and a professional one in audience development.
I am now in the process of conducing a research for ICOM at the Museum of the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice. Here I am exploring audiences’ meaning making strategies through qualitative visitor studies methods, with the hope of improving the interpretation scheme of the museums’ collection and visitors overall experience.
