Miren Urquijo qualified as a teacher in 1980 and graduated in Social Anthropology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 1999. She then went on to write her doctoral thesis “Dramatizations of economic and gender culture in Basque agritourism. The case of Tolosaldea”( 2011) in which she introduced a dramaturgical perspective on social life. Her connection with the theatre has been another constant in her professional life, both as A teacher and playwright and she obtained the Advanced Diploma in Dramatic Arts from the Royal School of Dramatic Art (R.E.S.A.D. Madrid, 1986). In 2003 she co-founded Farapi SL., the first consultancy in applied anthropology in the Basque Country, and in 2005 she set up a business as a freelance professional in qualitative research in the socio-cultural sphere (www.ethnotek.net), which she has combined with her work at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, where she was made a Lecturer in March 2013.
Less
