Mike is an Associate Professor in the School of Landscape Architecture at Lincoln University in Christchurch, New Zealand. His research interests include applied sustainability and the professional practice of landscape architecture in New Zealand. Mike is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects, and has served for a number of years on the Institute's national executive committee. Recent research includes leading a joint study on the carbon profiling of hard landscape materials, which won a Sustainability Award of Excellence in 2013. Current investigations are focussed around student learning and the implications of personality type and learning style on success in a design studio.
