Dr Michelle Trudgett is an Indigenous scholar from the Wiradjuri Nation in New South Wales, Australia. Michelle has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Aboriginal Studies), Masters of Professional Studies (Aboriginal Studies) and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of New England. Her doctoral research investigated the support mechanisms available to Indigenous Australian postgraduate students, offering 26 recommendations for the implementation of government, Indigenous units and universities. Michelle is passionate about developing strategies to ensure Indigenous Australians receive culturally appropriate support throughout their academic journeys. Michelle is the first Indigenous Australian to be appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Macquarie University.
