Dr Mehreen Gul has an academic background consisting of a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in 1999 from Napier University in Solar Radiation modelling using available long-term meteorological data. On the Low Carbon Futures project she worked as a lead qualitative researcher to gain an insight into the attitudes, beliefs, views, experiences, concerns and aspirations of building design professionals so that these can be used to inform design decisions. She has a strong research interest in low carbon buildings, post occupancy evaluation, understanding the behaviour and attitude of users towards energy and water conservation and is keen on identifying ways to confront issues of cultural diversity which are necessary for a strategy aiming to change individual and community patterns of consumption. To date she has 17 journal and conference publication in the areas of solar energy and low carbon buildings.
