Mr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman has a multidisciplinary academic background in Environmental Management and Environmental Engineering. He did his Masters degree (1997) in Environmental Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, as well as his graduation (1993) in Civil Engineering from the same university. He achieved his second Masters degree (2000) with AusAID scholarship in Environmental Management and Development from the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra. Mr. Rahman has more than twelve years of research, teaching and engineering professional experience. He has been serving as a Senior Lecturer with the North South University (NSU), Dhaka, Bangladesh since 2001. Before joining NSU, Mr. Rahman served in the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) of Bangladesh for about five years in different capacities from research to execution of engineering projects. Mr. Rahman also received an academic excellence award in year 2000 from the National Centre for Development Studies (NCDS) of the ANU for his outstanding result in the Masters Program. Currently he is on a study leave from the NSU and is pursing PhD in Environmental Management at the University of Sydney, Australia with AusAID scholarship. He is expected to complete the Doctoral research by March 2011.
