Professor Dr. Mazlin Mokhtar is a Professor of Environmental Chemistry and the Director of the Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. His primary research and professional activities are in environmental and analytical chemistry, toxicology, environmental management, chemicals governance and integrated natural resources management such as Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM), Integrated River Basin Management (IRBM) and Chemicals Governance via a Sound Chemicals Management System (CMS). Professor Mazlin has published more 130 articles in environmental chemistry and related areas. He is the founding chairman of MyNICHE (Malaysia Network for Integrated Management of Chemicals and Hazardous Substances for Environment and Development (MyNICHE)and has been an Executive Committee of Malaysia Water Partnership. Mazlin also chairs the Working Group Partnership on biodiversity and environmental management consisting BP (Malaysia), NRE, WWF, ISIS, British Council, etc since 1999. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee of Environmental Health Research Centre, Institute for Medical Research, Ministry of Health and member of National Steering Committee for UNDP Small Grants Programme.
