...MoreDr Mark Evans is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Design and Technology at Loughborough University. He has bachelors, masters and Ph.D qualifications in industrial design. Prior to joining the University he worked as both a consultant and in-house industrial designer, specialising in powered garden products. Since joining the University he has continued to undertake professional practice and practice-based research for organisations such as British Airways, Unilever and Honda. Research continues to focus on the professional practice of industrial and product design, with PhD study exploring the integration of rapid prototyping within professional practice. He has recently been responsible for the origination and management of two Knowledge Transfer Programmes relating to high technology/overseas manufacturing. These two year programmes received $400 000 in funding from the UK government. In 2003 he was invited to undertake a six month research project into the development of advanced product design tools at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
