Lesley's work is in the field of education policy sociology. Her research focuses on both schooling and higher education sectors, with a particular interest in educational change in a context of globalisation. Prior to her PhD and appointment as an academic, she was a secondary teacher, curriculum developer and tertiary entrance examiner. She has recently completed an Australian Research Council grant on higher education policy in Mainland China, Hong Kong (Special Administrative Region) and Singapore.
