I am a Fulbright Specialist scholar and will remain on their roster for five years with a speciality in the area of Education and Arts education. My professional vitae includes significant experience as the director of an artist in residency program administered by the New Jersey State Department of Education, as an arts supervisor for an urban school district facilitating professional development instruction for 47 visual and performing arts teachers, as a curator of education at a university art gallery, and as a teacher of gifted and talented students in arts infused learning in literacy and science. Presently, I am an assistant professor instructing pre-service teachers in arts integration into the common core. My classes include Creative Arts and Children's Literature and Arts and Creative Methodologies and Assessments k-6. I have published widely in arts and education including the anthology Out of Context: American Artists Abroad and Veiled Time; contemporary artists and the Holocaust. In Fall 2013 in the Journal of Art for Life, I have an article entitled "Alterations: the work of the altered book artist Miriam Schaer."
