...MoreDr Kevin Mansfield has over 20 years experience in research and teaching in light and lighting in the built environment. Originally trained as an architect, he moved into lighting research and has particular interests in specifying visual appearance and in metrics of lighting quality. He is intrigued by the 'virtualisation' of his subject area and seeks to define appropriate application of digital tools while acknowledging that graphic visualisations and physical architectural models still form an important part of the designer's toolkit.
Currently Course Director of the MSc Light & Lighting offered at the Bartlett, UCL, he has authored a number of papers on lighting appearance and is also on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Lighting Research and Technology.
