I received M.A. in International Studies from the University of Denver in 1992 and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, 1999. I currently work for Asian Growth Research Institute located in the City of Kitakyushu, Japan, as a research professor. My specializations are environmental economics, and urban economics. I have done researches on a wide range of environmental issues in the context of Asia. They are IT and the environment, trade and the environment, and recyclable materials market in Asia. My current research themes of interest are: municipal emissions trading schemes in Asia; community-based energy supply with renewables; international competitiveness of Japanese green technologies; impacts of declining and aging population on urban energy consumption.
