Kathryn recently completed a Masters (by research) Degree at Deakin University. Her research project was associated with earth-based spirituality within Australian Outdoor and Environmental Studies. Using eco-feminist philosophy within a narrative inquiry, Kathryn explored how meditation practices, as experienced by secondary school students, can promote values of deep ecology and strong environmental ethics.
Kathryn is currently commencing a PhD exploring the role of the 'Self-determination theory' towards female snowboarder environmental ethics.
Kathryn is also a lecturer and tutor within the faculty of Arts/Education at Deakin University, currently teaching Postgraduate and Undergraduate courses. In addition, she lectures and tutors undergraduate units within the faculty of Business & Law at Deakin University.
Kathryn's teaching qualifications include a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor Recreation, awarded from Monash University in 2007. She has had four-years teaching experience in the secondary school sector in the UK and in Melbourne, teaching physical education, health education, sport, and outdoor and environmental studies.
