...MoreDr. Jonathan Kaplan earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Stanford Philosophy Department in 1996. He currently specializes in the Philosophy of Biology, Philosophy of Science (including the social sciences), and Political Philosophy. Prior to his current position as an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Oregon State University and Chair of the OSU Philosophy Department, he served as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, a Lecturer in Philosophy at Stanford University, and was a post-doctoral fellow with the Stanford University Biomedical Ethics Center's Program in Genomics, Ethics and Society. His most recent book, "Making Sense of Evolution," co-authored with evolutionary biologist Massimo Pigliucci, was recently published by the Chicago University Press.
