  Dr. Engebreton, PhD, RN is a Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, with an adjunct affiliation at the School of Public Health. She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years and has a wealth of experience as a public health nurse. Her research interests focus on cultural studies of the illness experience and on culturally diverse explanatory models of health and illness.
