Professor Jeri Kroll (PhD, Columbia), who established the Flinders University Creative Writing Program, has published over 20 books for young people and adults, which have won many Australian awards, including CBC Notable Books and the Anne Elder Award for best first poetry collection. Recent creative books are New and Selected Poems (2013) and Swamp Soup (2012). Among over 40 scholarly works, most recent in 2013 are the co-edited Research Methods in Creative Writing (Palgrave Macmillan), ‘Creative Writing and Education’ in Wiley-Blackwell’s Companion to Creative Writing, as well as essays and a chapter on doctoral supervision, examination and creative knowledge production. A staged reading of her verse novel-in-progress took place at the Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts ‘Page to Stage’ Festival (2011). This is part of an ongoing collaborative project with Professor Leslie Jacobson (Horizons Theatre and George Washington University). She is Dean of Graduate Research at Flinders University.
