...MoreMy work has been over a decade of cumulative teaching experience at secondary and college level settings predominantly in the areas of Spanish language, ESL and French. I have been residing in Qatar for the past 5 years while pursuing my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction through Texas A&M University, College Station. My BA is in Spanish literature and language, and my MA is in ESL, both earned at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Presently, I am an English Language Specialist for the US State Department and am placed on short term curriculum and instruction projects at educational institutions in Qatar. Being involved in the k-12 as well as university systems here in Qatar has given me an intimate view of the issues that are affecting the educational reform within the country. In the spring of 2008, I was employed by Texas A&M University and Qatar University on a joint post -Bachelor's teacher training certificate program as a student teacher supervisor through TAMU. My research interests are ESL teacher preparation, literacy issues in language 2, second language acquisition and multicultural education.
