Helen Johnson lectures in Anthropology, Sociology, and Women's Studies at the University of Queensland, Australia, concentrating on issues of gender, indigenous women, mixed heritage and development. She has received Visiting Fellowships at the French University of the Pacific in New Caledonia, the University of British Columbia and Dalhousie University in Canada, and the University of Hawai’i – Manoa and the Five College Women’s Studies Research Centre in the USA.
