...MoreHeather Soanes has been teaching for thirty three years and is currently undertaking part time research studying for an Education Doctorate degree with the University of Greenwich, London. Her research, a case study, centres on the emotional and democratic impact for the school and its children when the ‘voices’ of children are empowered through greater consultation and participation in roles as members of the School Council, working parties, pastoral duties and additional responsibilties within the school.
She is involved with promoting the school’s involvement in U.N. Article 12 Conferences and Children’s Parliament within the Local Education Authority.
