I began my academic career at the University of Oxford, where I read for a BA in Hebrew and Arabic. I then went on to pursue a Master’s in Abrahamic Religions at King’s College London. Having a particular interest in food and religious food laws, I wrote my dissertation on Jewish dietary practices in the late Second Temple period, with particular reference to the practices of Jesus as described in the synoptic gospels. Whilst working on this subject, I identified an interesting area for doctoral research; the early rabbinic attitudes to separating meat and milk products. I thus began a PhD in this subject at the Freie Univeristät Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Tal Ilan.
Outside of the academic sphere, my interest in food revolves around the kitchen. I love to cook, and recently began a blog dedicated to sharing wholesome, vegetarian recipes.
