  The City of Knowledge became a Research and Action Center for the Economics of Information and Audiovisual Arts at the Dept. of Cinema, Radio and TV, School of Communication and Arts, University of São Paulo, in 2005. In 2007, new programs for citizens, teachers, community leaders and fellows from the schools of engineering, economics, management, accountancy, communication and arts will be inititated by the City of Knowledge, focusing on Iconomics, Digital Emancipation and Local Development.
