He is founder and director of the German Institute for Sports Marketing. His teaching, research and consulting specialisations are sports marketing, event marketing, sponsorship, ambush marketing, marketing communications, marketing below the line / innovative marketing and international marketing research. Gerd Nufer has published numerous books and scientific papers in the fields of marketing and sports management. He serves as a member of the editorial board and as a reviewer for several international scientific journals. He has won awards for both his teaching and research.
