Over the course of my life I have lived in many forms of dwellings, ranging from adequate to marginal housing, and have also worked as a property developer and residential landlord for more than thirty years. As a consequence, I have developed a keen interest in all forms of housing and the social issues dwelling circumstances can present. I have completed a Bachelor of Social Science Degree and an Honours Degree in Sociology at James Cook University, Cairns, Australia. My interest in housing and a strong desire for social justice has prompted further study and I am currently undertaking a Doctoral Thesis at James Cook University , titled 'Housing the Homeless'. This thesis examines the social consequences of housing marginality and proposes combative measures.
