My academic background is varied. In 1987 I completed a Masters of Arts degree majoring in Anthropology, Sociology and Psychology at the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany. In 1992 I completed my doctorate in Anthropology. In New Zealand I completed a Master of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Auckland in 1996 and worked as a Psychologist in several therapeutic institutions in Auckland until 2000. In 2000 I started to work as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences in the Auckland University of Technology in the Department of Social Sciences. In April 2010 I became a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences Bremen where I teach Psychology in the Department of Social Work.
