Fiona Harman is an artist based in Western Australia whose practice investigates real and imagined experiences of suburbia through representations of architectural motifs in painting. She is PhD. candidate, and sessional academic at Curtin University, where she teaches painting, drawing and Art History. Harman's background is in visual art, and her work experiments with the abstraction of representational elements in painting. Her creative research crosses between architecture and art, looking at ways real and imagined representations of the home in painting can allude to notions of place, belonging and elements of Australia identity.
