  Faredah Al-Murahhem holds a PhD degree in Interior Architecture from Brighton University, UK, a Master of Interior Design from Umm al-Qura University, Makkah: Saudi Arabia, and a Bachelor of Interior Architecture from King Faisal University, Dammam: Saudi. She has a diploma in education from Umm al-Qura university and a diploma in Research Methodology from Brighton University. Al-Murahhem is a member in some institutions inside and outside Saudi. She is curently an assistant proffesor at Umm al-qura university teaching interior design courses for undergradate students. She is also a deputy director of the scholarship & inter- University Relations-Female Section.Her main interest is dominated on exploring traditional houses of Makkah and the rawāshīn from different prespective: design, structure, construction, inhabitation and orientalism.
