Erin Mays is currently a senior Strategist and Researcher at Stuart Karten Design (SKD). She works with clients to develop in-depth research strategies and lead in-house and off-site research programs. Through comprehensive analysis of research findings, the SKD strategy and research team develops insightful design criteria and recommendations for product development and business strategies. Erin uses research to look for business opportunities for clients based on consumer unmet needs and market opportunities. She has extensive primary and secondary research experience, including using methods such as ethnography, contextual inquiry, in-depth-interviews, shadowing, iterative research, and validation research. Some recent clients include SC Johnson, Duracell, Samsung, LG, and Starkey.
Erin holds bachelor degrees in Anthropology and Design/Media Arts from UCLA, and a Masters of Business Administration with a Design Strategy focus from California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
