Emman OSAKWE is a Professor of Social Studies, Department of Social Science Education, Delta State University, Abraka – Nigeria. He has served severally as head of his department. He is a pioneer member the University Senate; pioneer Chairman University Curriculum Committee, and currently Dean of Postgraduate School of the Delta State University – the coordinating organ of University 34 postgraduate Programmes. Born on 23rd April 1949, he studied at the University of Nigeria Nsukka – with a B.SC (Ed) degree; Temple University, USA – M. Ed in Curriculum Development; M.A Geography in Education from the University of London, U.K and holds a Ph.D. degree in Social Studies from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is a researcher with several books and Journal articles to his credit. His research interest spans through Social Studies, Social Issues, Gender Studies, Curriculum Studies, Voter Education and Population Education.
