I was hired by Kendall College twenty years ago to function as a "bridge" between theory and practice, consequently, I teach both studio and academically focused courses. Professionally, my studio work as a painter has been exhibited nationally, including such venues as A.I.R. in New York City, University of Texas, and most recently in Detroit, MI at the University Ligett School. I have also lectured widely, including presentations on "French Post Structural Feminism", and "Aesthetic Denigration; Caricature and the infamous Danish Cartoons. More recently my interests have turned to the re-invigoration of Lacanian Psychoanalytic theory. My current work grapples with the subject of mental illness from the point of view of the witness. This is a subject I felt compelled to explore after my son was diagnosed with Schizophrenia.
