I am a second year Ph.D. student at Natural Resource Sciences & Management program at the University of Minnesota. I received my undergraduate degree in economics at Ankara University, Turkey and master's degree in Sustainable Development at Uppsala University, Sweden. Throughout my master’s degree, I have worked for various projects related to sustainable community development and global climate change.
My current research interests are economic questions related to renewable energy and policy. I recently started working on my research proposal, which is briefly on individuals’ attitudes towards participating in carbon markets and the role of institutions for promoting development of carbon offsetting policy in the United States and Scandinavia.
After getting my doctoral degree, I am looking forward to teaching and researching in the area of environmental economics and policy analysis.
