Crutchfield is currently an Assistant Professor of Architecture in the Department of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at North Dakota State University with a research specialization in 'Green' and 'Sustainable' Design. His research is primarily focused on the meanings, influences, and interpretations of 'Green', 'Environmental' and/or 'Sustainable' Design.
He is also a licensed professional Architect of national accreditation with over 20 years of broad national and international design experience. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University and a Master of Architecture (in Sustainable Design) from the University of Texas at Austin. His broadly based professional experience includes numerous projects of various scales throughout the United States and Europe including civic, retail, commercial, entertainment, and residential designs.
Crutchfield is also currently involved with 'Architecture For Humanity' and recently met with Cameron Sinclair, who heads the international design/build relief organization.
