A graduate of Ontario, College of Art (1986), David studied corporate communication design under well-known Canadian designers including Burton Kramer, Hans Kleefeld, Keith Rushton and Ernst Barenscher. After working for several Toronto-based communication design firms, David relocated to Ottawa, where he founded Parable Communications (1994). Currently celebrating it’s 20th anniversary, Parable has specialized in visual communication design, specifically in corporate identity, publications such as annual reports, and specialty design projects such as stamps, web-based products and a worlds fair. Further pursuing his interest in design theory, David completed his Masters in Design (Carleton University) and is currently developing new perspectives in fundamental visual communication design theory through interdisciplinary research into psychology, cognitive sciences, information theory, communications studies, statistical design, linguistics and semiotics.
