Daniela Reimann, Dr. phil., researcher and media art educator from a visual arts and interactive media education background exploring the overlap between arts, design, computer science and media technology in education at university and school level. She holds an M.A. in visual arts, art education and literature as well as a diploma in pedagogy of media technology. Her work bridges the gap between scientific and artistic research and learning cultures in project based scenarios bringing together theory and practice. She works experimentally across the curricula in between disciplines and media. She explores the impact of cutting edge digital media technologies and scientific innovation in relation to our physical and Mixed Reality interaction spaces.
Since 2010 she works at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology's Institute of Vocational and General Education; 2005-8 Visiting Professor and lecturer at the Department of Art Education at the University of Art and Industrial Design Linz, Austria. 2007-09 Assistant Professor for Media Pedagogy at the University of Education in Freiburg, Germany; 2004-06 researcher in the project MediaArtLab@School funded under the German Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsprogramm (HWP) at the Department of Visual Arts at the Institute of Aesthetics and Cultural Education at the University of Flensburg. 2001-2003 researcher in the BLK-model project ArtDeCom at the Forum for Interdisciplinary Studies at the Muthesius-Academy of Arts, Kiel. PhD- thesis on integrated arts and computer science in education, published in Oberhausen 2006 (Athena), 2004/05 Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt, Department 4, Aesthetics, Communication and Media. 1998-2000 researcher at the Institute of Technology and Education at the University of Bremen. PhD-thesis on integrated arts and computer science in education; Research on interdisciplinary media arts education, interactive media and Mixed Reality systems in art education, teacher training, media pedagogy. 2006 Expert of the German UNESCO delegation on cultural education, founding member of Pacific Rim New media Summit Education Working Group, German representative of the Leonardo Education Forum.
