...MoreDr. Andreas has been an Art Teacher in both public and private schools since graduating from American University, in Washington, DC, in 1970. She returned to school in 1980 to study for an M.A. in Art Therapy from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, CA. From 1982 to 1998, Andreas worked in inner city schools all over the USA as a Special Education Art Teacher. In 1998, she returned to school to earn a Ph.D. in Art Education and Art Therapy from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Andreas completed a Ph.D. in 2005 with a dissertation topic of "Promotion of Visual Perceptual Development through Therapeutic Art Education". Dr. Andreas has been teaching at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL for 6 years, and is currently the Art History Professor and Chair of the Humanities Department.
