Cory Lyle received his MA in French/Romance Linguistics in 2008 and his PhD in Hispanic Linguistics in 2012 from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently teaches Linguistics, Spanish and French at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. His research interests include Dynamical Systems Theory, second language acquisition and discourse analysis. His conference presentations include "Tense alternations in L2 French narratives: a reexamination of the Congruence Principle" for Chronos-8: 8th international conference on tense, aspect, modality and evidentiality. His recent publication, "The fractal nature of French tense/aspect acquisition", is due to appear in the upcoming issue of the Journal of Applied Linguistics.
