Dr Chloe Patton is a researcher and tutor in the School of Global Studies, Social Science and Planning at RMIT University, Melbourne. Her main research interests lie in questions of identity and belonging concerning Muslim diasporas in the West. An ethnographer by training, her most recent work looks at feminist discourses on agency in relation to Islamic veiling as well as subjective accounts of hybrid identity. A concurrent project involves the application of interpretive ethnographic frameworks to pedagogical practices. This work focuses on students' and teachers' perceptions and experiences of innovative assessment in higher education.
