Charmaine Farber was recently recieved a Fellowship through the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Cal Poly, CA), for her interdisciplinary project proposal aimed at helping business incubator understand how user experience design relates to start-ups. As the recipient of the New Haven Arts Council Fellowship, New Haven CT, she worked to create a project with a featured presentation at Yale’s British Museum of Art at the International Festival of Arts and Ideas. She recently published a transmedia project, entitled Art Courage Program, which is a book and olfactory system. Also recently developed a piece commissioned by the San Diego Art Institute titled Scentwalk: Balboa Park which explores Balboa Park in San Diego, CA
through an interactive sensory map and olfaction component.
Farber is a tenure-track professor at Cal Poly in the Graphic Communications Dept. as well as an appointment in Department of Medical Sciences Quinnipiac University. She was previously a professor at Quinnipiac , Youngstown State University and the University of Iowa, teaching web design and graphic design courses. Farber’s M.F.A. (with honors) is in Design from the University of Iowa and M.A. in Interactive Media Design and Game Development from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
