Dr. Bobbi Hansen is a faculty member at the University of San Diego where she has been twice awarded the prestigious Distinguished Faculty Award, the highest honor at the university. She received her B.S. degree from Valparaiso University in Indiana, M.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and her Ed.D. degree from the University of Southern California. Dr. Hansen teaches courses at both the preservice and graduate level in Curriculum and Methods and Advanced Instructional Theories. Currently, she is serving as the pedagogical expert in three federal grants. In 1999 Dr. Hansen was among an international team of educators invited to assist in the development of a new system of schools in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Other research projects have included grants from the University of California, Berkeley and the National Corporation for Community Service and an investigation of GLOBE, a worldwide science educational program that unites teachers and students with an international scientific community for the purpose of studying the global environment. As a result of this work, Dr. Hansen was invited to present at the Global Summit and recently returned from Scotland where she delivered a paper on Problem-based Learning.
