Dr. Nanton is Professor, and Chairs the Professional Education (PEC) Program in the MacArthur School of Leadership. She has an Ed.D. in Organization & Leadership, Columbia University, and dual master’s degrees in Human Resource Development and Counseling Psychology, Palm Beach Atlantic University. She teaches courses in Organization Leadership and Organization Management; has taught in Kenya, Hong Kong, The Bahamas, China and the Czech Republic; and traveled to India and Malawi on women and Leadership projects. Her work experience includes supervision,management and start-ups of multiple departments in Healthcare. Areas of expertise include: Leadership development, Regulatory compliance, Accreditation & Assessment, Staff development, education and online technology services, cross-cultural competence, strategic planning, program and curriculum design, performance improvement and psycho-education. She has served as a regional accreditation assessor for transfusion medicine, consulted and facilitated workshops in HRD, Allied Health, diversity and cross-cultural communication, and women's empowerment & leadership. She has founded and directed programs in the community, healthcare, music and performing arts; and has received awards and recognition for teaching, scholarship, and her work. Dr. Nanton is past chair (2012-2013)of the Women and Leadership Affinity Group in the International Leadership Association (ILA); on the editorial review board of Adult Learning Journal and reviewer for the Adult Education Quarterly, and Journal of Business Management. Her latest co-edited publication is "Social Capital and Women’s Support Systems: Networking, Learning and Surviving" (2009), San Francisco: Jossey-Bass. She co-directs the HRD SIG for the Commission for Professors of Adult Education with American Association Adult and Continuing Education.
