Boris Ružić is an Assistant at the Department of Cultural Studies, University of Rijeka, Croatia. He is a PhD student enrolled in a programme “Interdisciplinary Humanities”, researching the dialectics of the “filmic” image with the thesis “The Gaze Behind the Screen: Perception of Images in Media Texts“. He holds four seminar courses at the Department of Cultural Studies since 2010. He is an editor of “The Window into the Digital” on Croatian radio, a programme dealing with topics such as technology, media, visuality and philosophy in contemporary society. He is also an author and columnist for the Croatian website tportal. His publications deal with the comparative dialectics of analogue and digital media and film. His scientific interests lie in the liminal zone of visual images, analogue and digital film image and the semiotics of the virtual filmic state.
