Baiba Tjarve is responsible for the development of academic research projects at Latvian Academy of Culture. Her research interests are cultural policies in transition countries and governance of intangible cultural heritage. In 2014, she was in a team of researchers evaluating the impact of Riga 2014 – European Capital of Culture. Baiba Tjarve has conducted research projects upon request of the Ministry for Culture of the Republic of Latvia and of the Latvian cultural organizations. Research has been undertaken on the most topical issues in the Latvian cultural life of today, such as changes in the cultural audiences, the economic and social impact of culture.
